Falling Through Ceilings

Because sometimes 140 characters on Twitter just isn't enough.

Make your sirens call, sing all you want. I will not hear what you have to say.

Okay the time has come. I have packed my books, my alarm clock, my pants and all the other stuff I have. I'm moving out tomorrow.

I'm going to university! (don't laugh, I am clever sometimes*)

I'm looking forward to meeting people, I genuinely am, it's just that.. well, I get a little annoyed with the people that I have already added on facebook. Not because of what they're saying or doing, that's fine. There's two reasons:

1) My immediate thought is "Who the flippertygibbet-on-a-stick are you??" Because of course if I don't know you at all, I have no interest whatsoever in whether you like this or that song, or feeling really rough because you got completely trousered last night. It always takes me a moment to remember how I am in anyway connected to you before I can continue in my News Feed reading joys.

2) If you write something funny, or something in anyway amusing to me, where is the line? Okay, maybe I can click 'like', but often it's a bit weird. Mainly because I get the feeling that they must think exactly what I think when I see their names (See: Reason 1). Also, because I don't know this person, how do I know if that's funny or not? If Susie is famous for losing her watch all the time, and so has to buy cheap ones constantly, then it might be quite funny if she posts a status like "Lost my watch while I was actually looking at it. HOW?" On the other hand, if this watch was an expensive present from her recently deceased father, clicking the 'like' button seems less like a good idea.

Okay that's totally extreme, and that example in particular has never happened to me, but I have looked at something that a 'future friend' has written and had no idea how to react to it. Of course, the rule is that you don't respond in this case, but this situation just winds me up until I get very irritated by it and write a frustrated blog post.

Right I'm going before I write anything else.

Maybe I'll update you when I get there, but if we have a lesson to learn from Moldova it's that I probably won't for a while :P

Kisses.

*Sometimes. Okay, occasionally. I was on one occasion. I'm not revealing which.

Something's going on and I think it's going on right now.

I'm not saying that she isn't pretty, because she obviously is, but Pixie Lott pulls really weird facial expressions.

Keep your eyes still, woman.

Err no news to share really. Except, if you're on Facebook that video what I said about before is up now.

And I wish that I could travel his way..

I know it's terrible, but there's some people on facebook whose status I will read and think, "I'm glad I'm not best friends with you anymore.."

:/

True story.

In other news:

Ahh, Peggy Lee :)

Please try harder.

Oh, come on Facebook.

Is Valentine's Day itself not a good enough reason?

FB needs to pull it's socks up.

Cn't reada ma pooooker face.

My mum just walked into my room and said...

Well, I'm not allowed to say. It was very funny, and after she left I was just about to tell someone then she came back in and said,

"AND DON'T GO TALKING ABOUT ME ON FACEBOOK!"

She made me promise. I'm guessing that she meant the whole internet by that as well.

It was pretty hilarious though. If I see you in person I might sneakily tell you haha. There were tears in my eyes.

I actually thought she'd come in because she'd heard me watching this and got worried about the repeated mentions of the word 'knife' in my room.. Got away with that one though haha.

I haven't told a rubbish story about my life in AGES. I used to come into school every day with another pointless story about how many spiderwebs I'd seen that morning or how I missed my alarm and got to school ten minutes after leaving my bed.

You can all be sure that once I stop being a useless layabout these stories will return.

Now I'm just going to go back to my stalking, if you don't mind.

Facebook.

Today I'd like to talk about something serious and important. It is a crime that many, many commit every day without even thinking about it. I personally feel like a victim of this crime and I truly believe that if shown the error of their ways, most of these criminals would realise what they are doing and stop without a moments hesitation.

The joining of groups and fan pages is slowly turning Facebook into world of monotony and drudge. Every time I go on, it looks a lot like THIS.

It's driving me mental. I miss terribly being able to go on and find out how my actual friends are doing. I don't go on because I want to know which of the randoms that I'm friends with are fans of Texting or even worse, something like this:

Saying " It's ok " but secretly knowing it's killing you inside

How can you even be a fan of that?! (at least 5 of my friends are, and ONE MILLION OTHER ACTUAL PEOPLE OH MY FACE)

Each dreary page is as dull as the last, with a profile picture pulled straight from Google images in the hopes of drawing out a flat smile from the blank faces of the plebs who join.

But I really want to know is, why do people join? Surely the idea is that you join the pages of a few musicians and TV shows, so that if your newer acquaintances want to know a bit more about you, they can have a quick look at the list on your profile and learn a bit about your tastes in entertainment. Instead they are now just met with a lengthy characterless list of groups and pages which are notable only in that 60,000 other people have also joined. Why would anyone want to be defined by something that so many other people are thoughtlessly claiming at the same time?

I do still like Facebook, but it's just like nobody else is at all frustrated by it. Readers, I know that you're doing it and I will get you. Some day, somewhere. Maybe even while you're sleeping.

...Hope you had a good Christmas lol.
