It's as if you knew me better than I ever knew myself..

Just went to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Warwick Arts Centre!

In a TENT. Yeahhh :D Hahha. It was pretty awesome actually. Not as good as the RSC production was, but I need to get over that xDD

Right, so I need to jot down some thoughts about it before they escape me completely lol. I've got to do an exam about this, this time next year :/

Doc-doc-doc-doc-doctor beat...

I just saved a ladybird! Hahha. I found it sitting in the grill while I was trying to do toast lol. I was like "why on earth is there a ladybird in our grill?" The poor thing looked half dead by the heat before I even noticed it, but I quickly switched it off and got it out with a spoon. After excitedly showing my somewhat unenthusiastic brother, I decided to put it on a pot plant for now.

Yep, a rather exciting adventure for the morning :P lol. But now I need to get dressed or I'll be late for school..

But just reaally quickly, click heerre! I got an email about it from the RSC about an hour ago.

£5 tickets over Christmas! How exciting!

ETA: In some twisted bizarre way, I really like this song. I know it's country lol, but I do like it.

ETA2: This flipping film is awesome, I just watched it heheh. And the song is pretty awesome too (Goo Goo Dolls are wicked) sooo you all need to watch that clip :P Even if Jim's mother looks young enough to be his sister lol.

If you don't tell me ver zey are hiding, zen I 'ave no choice but to shoot you AND your cat

"Will Poulter, who has been cast as pain-in-the-butt Eustace Scrubb, the Pevensie children's cousin, in the next Narnia adventure to go before the cameras - The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader - which Michael Apted will direct.

Awful things happen to Eustace in this tale, but he learns. Will played Lee Carter, the scamp schoolboy in the film Son Of Rambow."

If you didn't see Son of Rambow, first of all, you should.

Secondly, I'll just let you on into the secret that Will Poulter (he's the blonde one) is actually awesome for a fourteen year old.

But don't take my word for it - really, go see Son of Rambow. It should be out on DVDs at some point in the near future if not already.

Ahh that's brightened up an already good day considerably.

By the way, I need to see Prince Caspian within a week or so of it's release, otherwise I might die of ngghhhh. Kay? Kay.

Also today is the longest day of the year according to my Pirates of the Caribbean calendar. I don't reckon I'll notice the difference.

You know it's time for bed when..

...your eyes are screaming death threats at you because you're forcing them to stay open while you quickly & pointlessly update your blog.

My hair seems to hate me too actually, because I put a load of smoothing cream in it. It's all like "nngghhh hair product overloadd". But it smells awesome (thank youu Sunsilk xx)

You what the smell of the purple sunsilk reminds me of? Happiness.

It's a bit peculiar really, because I don't remember anything amazing happening when I still used that shampoo lol.

Uuughh I'm talking about flipping shampooo. Who let me on my blog at 1am?

Goodnight everyone, I hope you're all already in bed lol. See you at some point in my life. Maybe.

You've one life, you've one life, you've one life left to lead..

Was listening to my dad's Switchfoot album while washing up. I now have that stuck in my head (see: title)

Guess it's true though.

Anywho, it's Thursday! Woo :D

I don't really like Thursday that much, actually. Not sure why I'm celebrating.

Let's list some boring facts about Thursday, shall we? Yess. You know you want to:

"Thursday" is named after Thor, god of thunder.

"This must be Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays" - Arthur Dent. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Outlook for Thursday was a hit in New Zealand for Dave Dobbyn. I don't care who he is, he's from New Zealand therefore he is on my awesome list.

In high schools in the United States during the 1960s, it was widely believed that if someone wore green on Thursdays, it meant that they were gay. (Phew! I'm not wearing green today ;) wouldn't want any unfortunate women getting the wrong idea)

THURSDAYS ARE FUNNY. Are they? According to the BBC they are.

Apparently the Ascension of Jesus is on a Thursday.

I think I once devoted an entire post to a "Thursday Rave". Not sure on that one though.

See? Thursdays are not that bad.

Soo cheer up you bunch of sillies.

T'ra xxxxxxxxxx

You know why!

Just went to see "What Happens In Vegas" - it was pretty good, although very RomCom-ie.

There was this one bit though (I found it on YouTube for you) I dunno, maybe you had to watch the whole thing? All I know is it completely cracked me up.

YOU KNOW WHY.

An Art Lesson With Miss Lindley

So it's Wednesday, and I suddenly decided that I felt like painting. And so a star was born. Hahha.
Water colourrss :)
When given time, paper, and something to draw with, I can go on for hours just playing lol. I think that this is what happened.
"Ooh!" Thought Katrina, "I could use felt tips!" And so, little bits of detail appeared.
And continued to appear.
Then I found some coloured pencils lurking under my chair.. so I did a background..
And then, BAM! The Oil Pastels were discovered, rejoiced over, and quickly put into motion.
Random, colourful lines appeared, taking the spotlight away from the star slightly.
The star was not impressed..
Lines were tidied up, and I went to get a drink.
Lots more was tidied up. All the paint was nearly covered up now. It was like Oil Pastel city...
...Until I went at it with a bit of plastic and scraped a load of it off. Muahaha.
Ooh more little details put in with a thick pencil.. A 6B apparently. Also, Art Law was broken as I painted watercolours over oil pastels. Wasn't expecting it to work, and it took a fair bit of patience, but you can see that bright yellow line so I win. Against Art. Muahha.
Decided that the background was too busy, so I went over it in white oil pastel.
If you can see a difference between this and the last shot, let me know. Because I can't. I did put hairspray on it at this point, to stop all the smudging, but a photo won't show that lol.
With it being hairsprayed, I could draw white lines without them getting all smudged with the other colours, so I did some outlines. Aaand I slapped on a bit of glitter. My floor is a little bit glittery now..

And theeen I found some old (mostly dried up) acrylic paints, some of which were still usable (just) - mainly the orange, because it's one that I've never been all that keen on to be honest (orange being pretty much my least favourite colour and all that). I should probably leave it there lol. Especially as it'll probably get chucked in the bin within a month hahha. Good to use up my old art stuff though, instead of letting it rot away.

So there you are, kids, that's about as close as you're likely to get to seeing me spend so long on something like this. I'm sure you've learnt lots about.. um.. hairspray and er, how not to draw?

Hahah. Just remember, art is all good until you've got a screaming Scottish woman appearing behind you and demanding to know why you haven't done your homework. End of story.

ETA: Tuneage.

ETA2: Hahha my mum wants my picture. Success! :D

I ain't got a motorboat, but I can float your boat

Mmm. Slightly sleazy title. A good start, I think.

So this morning they released the stories that the professional writers wrote for the Waterstone's "What's Your Story" contest. Obviously I poured over the Jo Rowling entry & after some reading issues (she really should try harder with her handwriting :P) I eventually got the story, which is a lot better when you're not pausing to go "is that a g or a j?!. It was too short though ;)

Once I got over that though, I explored a couple of the other stories on the list, my two favourites being Neil Gaiman's (which is quite clever for such a short story) and Lauren Child's - which is HILARIOUS! I relate to it completely, lol! I decided not to read the ones which had difficult handwriting, simply because I think it takes away from the story itself if you have trouble reading it, despite the charming overall effect. I haven't looked at them all though, will probably do that some other time.

The word is on your lips, say the word..

FAS-CI-NA-TION

So I went to Pizza Hut today, much excitement all round lol.

Won't be going to DofE for ages now though. That'll be a bit weird prolly heh.

It's okay though. I'll put my (currently quite short list of) rave music on and eat Iced Gems. Because I'm awesome like that.

Hahha so I was trying to get myself into "Top Girls" mode for some drama revision.

That's right, kids. A little bit of Dolly Parton.
