L'orange de chocolat est tres bonne :)

So lately I've started a new project for myself. I'm making desktop wallpapers based on characters from films/tv shows, without using their faces, their clothes, any of the things they say, or any other really obvious way of showing who it is.

It's quite difficult, but I've managed three so far. Take a look!

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter):

Morgana (BBC Merlin):

Mrs Lovett (Sweeney Todd):

The last one is my favourite, and also the first one I made. It was made before I'd decided on the rules for myself though so it does feature a little bit of Bellatrix which I would change if I could be bothered but I can't.

I suppose that next I should tackle a male character... but that will be extra difficult for me. I haven't decided who to make next yet, so if you have any ideas drop them by me. I thought about doing Merlin or Arthur but ended up staring at the screen for a while before giving up & making Morgana haha.

Oh by the way the writing on Morgana's wallie is 'dierne dryicge', which (hopefully) means something like 'secret sorceress' in Old English - which is what the writing team use when they write spells in the show. I think that's just about obscure enough to get past my own rules lol.

Anyway I was thinking maybe Captain Jack Sparrow next? Ooorrr Robin Hood?

EDIT:

Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean):

Sooo productive.

My days off from work are always very productive.

For example, today I made an angel :D

Two mince pie cases and some scrunched up tissue.

I realise that I'm slightly mad.

I made a doll. From three matchsticks, some blu-tac, and some thread. It's now 2:30am.

I know, I know. Buuut I like playing!! Take a loook:

She's not great, the hair was a ridiculous affair, but look at the little matchbox bed! I put feathers in it as a mattress. I was too scared to give her a face, but I might ask what my mum thinks I should do with her. I still have to confess to her that I nicked the white thread from her.. she probably won't mind though hehe.

She so far has no name - any suggestions?

Right, okay, I am going to bed! (well, soon)

Merlin was awesome. Teehee!

Hufflepuffs need more love.

Errmm. This is Harry Potter fan-art. I know I'm a geek, I don't have any excuses for myself haha. This is a picture of Quidditch fangirl trying to cheer up the nervous Hufflepuff team before a game. Other innocent breakfast-eaters are a little alarmed and do not want to be associated.

If I'd thought for a second before hurriedly colouring, this could have been Luna Lovegood with another one of her eccentricities but never mind lol.

I couldn't be bothered to crop this. That's how much effort went in haha.

An Art Lesson With Miss Lindley

So it's Wednesday, and I suddenly decided that I felt like painting. And so a star was born. Hahha.
Water colourrss :)
When given time, paper, and something to draw with, I can go on for hours just playing lol. I think that this is what happened.
"Ooh!" Thought Katrina, "I could use felt tips!" And so, little bits of detail appeared.
And continued to appear.
Then I found some coloured pencils lurking under my chair.. so I did a background..
And then, BAM! The Oil Pastels were discovered, rejoiced over, and quickly put into motion.
Random, colourful lines appeared, taking the spotlight away from the star slightly.
The star was not impressed..
Lines were tidied up, and I went to get a drink.
Lots more was tidied up. All the paint was nearly covered up now. It was like Oil Pastel city...
...Until I went at it with a bit of plastic and scraped a load of it off. Muahaha.
Ooh more little details put in with a thick pencil.. A 6B apparently. Also, Art Law was broken as I painted watercolours over oil pastels. Wasn't expecting it to work, and it took a fair bit of patience, but you can see that bright yellow line so I win. Against Art. Muahha.
Decided that the background was too busy, so I went over it in white oil pastel.
If you can see a difference between this and the last shot, let me know. Because I can't. I did put hairspray on it at this point, to stop all the smudging, but a photo won't show that lol.
With it being hairsprayed, I could draw white lines without them getting all smudged with the other colours, so I did some outlines. Aaand I slapped on a bit of glitter. My floor is a little bit glittery now..

And theeen I found some old (mostly dried up) acrylic paints, some of which were still usable (just) - mainly the orange, because it's one that I've never been all that keen on to be honest (orange being pretty much my least favourite colour and all that). I should probably leave it there lol. Especially as it'll probably get chucked in the bin within a month hahha. Good to use up my old art stuff though, instead of letting it rot away.

So there you are, kids, that's about as close as you're likely to get to seeing me spend so long on something like this. I'm sure you've learnt lots about.. um.. hairspray and er, how not to draw?

Hahah. Just remember, art is all good until you've got a screaming Scottish woman appearing behind you and demanding to know why you haven't done your homework. End of story.

ETA: Tuneage.

ETA2: Hahha my mum wants my picture. Success! :D

My drawing personality. Thing.

Soo I was on this website where you draw either a tree, a house or a person, and then you get it analysed by filling in questions about it.

Here is my drawing of a tree.

This is what they said about it:

Your personality analysis based on this drawing:
You have limited skills to reach out to the rest of the World. You have good communication with others and are good at handling interpersonal relationships.

Hmm.

Happy Birthday to my brother.

*screams and runs away*

Soooo remember when we were in Year 9, all those people were like "oooooh it's your GCSEs in the next 2 years! THAT's going to be stressful :D " and we were all like "shut up."

Turns out -they weren't just taunting us for the sake of it...

Oh crap.

Tomorrow I'm going to see a play in Birmingham called "An Oak Tree". What's it about? No idea. It's probably about an oak tree. Then again, maybe not. Psh. It's like Pirates of the Caribbean 2 all over again... I mean, seriously. When was there a dead man in it? (other than at the end of course *sniff* RIP Cap'n (even though we all know that he won't rest. Or be peaceful.. bloody pirates..))

Then I have non-uniform day on Friday, and a week after that all the madness begins.

Friday 23rd March - Full dress rehearsal for drama piece. AHHH.
Monday 26rd March - Perfomance of drama piece. AHHH.
Tuesday 27rd March - Art exam day 1. AHHH.
Wednesday 28rd March - Art exam day 2. AHHH.

Then after that I recover a bit, then it's Easter.. then study leave... then EXAMS....then uhh
F R R E E E E E E E E E D D D D D O M M M M M M M M M M M M M M ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

...the whole secret hideout thing seems a little slow, a little stagnant, a little stationary.

So today I had to draw myself in art. I was pretty much okay with it until I sort of went to look at what other people had done :P It's weird, in lower school I was always the best in my class at art, but as soon as you're doing GCSE you're with all the other best people and you just don't look as good anymore lol.

The title refers to this - go watch it :P
