Media Studies
My A-Level Media Studies lessons were mental. Well they seemed to be to me, especially at first.
They sat us in front of films about drugs and violence, and usually things that were 18 certificate. Then they got us to write many many essays about them, I suppose so that we could see why they were so amazing. I was sixteen, and very much unused to films of this kind. I went to a very middle class school and I was still watching Disney films on youtube.
But that's not really why they were so difficult for me to grasp.
We'd walk in, and the teacher would put on a film saying something like "This is one of the best films you are likely to see in your life." We'd all get hopeful and then it would start. Get your popcorn ready, it's 10 minutes long (also there is swearing, this is one of those films after all):
And then it would end and they'd say "Wasn't that just the most brilliant thing you've ever seen in your life??"
Now this one in particular came up on my suggested videos section on youtube and watching it REALLY reminded me of my A Levels, partly because we did actually watch it, but also because you just get to the end and think "...what?!"
It was ages before I really understood what made my Media teachers obsess over these weird films. Now I'm slowly starting to understand I suppose, but I'd still rather watch Mulan any day.
Maybe that's why I got a D haha :P

May your days be merry and briiiight! And may all your Christmasses be white..
I've been awake for 17 and a half hours IT'S TOO LONG FOR MY LITTLE MIND TO SURVIVE.
Will collapse if I don't get to bed pretty soon.
I need to buy Christmas presents.
I need to write my Larkin essay that was due in two weeks ago.
I need to finish my structured record.
I need to fill in all my GCSEs and send off my UCAS application form.
I need to get more sleep.
I'm not very good at this stuff :/

*hums Doctor Who theme*
Helloo :D
Went to dentist today:
I HAD TO HAVE AN X-RAY!!
It was so exciting, everyone had to leave the room xD
I had to stick this thing in my mouth and hold this thing (which looked like a hairdryer) up to my cheek. Then they all went out for about 5 seconds, and all trooped back in again. Twas awesome xD
Did I say why? I don't think I did.
Basically, I still have that baby tooth! :D Hahha. So they wanted to check that I didn't have an adult tooth underneath waiting to pop up. Buuut I didn't, so I get to keep my baby one :)
It pretty much means that I'm allowed to be childish and watch Disney films for the rest of my life :D :D :D
Speaking of films, watched Sweeney Todd.
It was brilliant.
It was also disgusting.
I had to watch some of it through my hands.
People say that it doesn't help, but it really does.
I'd recommend it to a friend. And also to anyone I encounter who asks.
Unless they're a barber, wouldn't want them getting ideas xD
In other news, I also went on a drama trip yesterday! Love drama trips. School trips in general, I gather, are often happy affairs.
The play itself wasn't amazing, but it was quite good. There were clever bits, but I didn't find it hugely entertaining. It was a bit like the sort of documentary they make you watch in history. Sometimes you got really good documentaries in history lessons, and sometimes you got dreadful ones about Herr Heinstenschlafen who got into a semi-heated argument with Herr Michtenstein about the annual assembly being held on a Tuesday. I suppose this "Testing the Echo" was a bit like one of the 'Okay' documentaries.
Hahh. Awh I used to like my history lessons, we used to sit and listen to stories :D It was just when we had to write completely useless essays (about things like the Weimar Republic and that man called Rasputin what had sex with animals) that the idea of jumping out of the window came about.

Baacck to schooooooool.
Helloo :) Went back to school today, although I didn't do much interesting stuff. Did some stuff about 'Translations' in English, learnt my drama lines at lunch and then was only needed for a prompt in drama - we were doing the bit at the end that I'm not in, because it's their weakest scene.
Well, of course it is - I'm not in it! :P xD Joking lol.
Did I tell you that I watched a video of my GCSE exam? Nearly died. I can never watch myself on film again :|
That said, I probably will.
Anyway, have got something rather terrible to tell you all.
Have been watching the first series of Torchwood xDDD Bwahahaha.
It's rubbish, and I know it's rubbish - so you don't have to tell me it's rubbish...
But I looooooove it.
Ianto is fricken awesome.
"Lots of things you can do with a stopwatch..." xDDD

*screams and runs away*
Soooo remember when we were in Year 9, all those people were like "oooooh it's your GCSEs in the next 2 years! THAT's going to be stressful :D " and we were all like "shut up."
Turns out -they weren't just taunting us for the sake of it...
Oh crap.
Tomorrow I'm going to see a play in Birmingham called "An Oak Tree". What's it about? No idea. It's probably about an oak tree. Then again, maybe not. Psh. It's like Pirates of the Caribbean 2 all over again... I mean, seriously. When was there a dead man in it? (other than at the end of course *sniff* RIP Cap'n (even though we all know that he won't rest. Or be peaceful.. bloody pirates..))
Then I have non-uniform day on Friday, and a week after that all the madness begins.
Friday 23rd March - Full dress rehearsal for drama piece. AHHH.
Monday 26rd March - Perfomance of drama piece. AHHH.
Tuesday 27rd March - Art exam day 1. AHHH.
Wednesday 28rd March - Art exam day 2. AHHH.
Then after that I recover a bit, then it's Easter.. then study leave... then EXAMS....then uhh
F R R E E E E E E E E E D D D D D O M M M M M M M M M M M M M M ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
